Jessica Mayes, Assistant / Paralegal

Jessica Mayes was born and raised in Georgia, where she currently resides with her husband and two children.

She has always had a love for the legal field and spent many years working in personal injury before gaining experience in estate planning and probate here. Aside from experience, she brings a sense of compassion and understanding to the firm. Helping others and making them feel comfortable during understandably vulnerable times, is a top priority of hers. Have questions? We have the answers here!

Make sure you and anyone with you are not seriously injured and seek out prompt medical attention. ALWAYS call 911 to file a police report. ALWAYS take photos and notes to document the accident, including the location, vehicles, people and any other information that would be useful later. ALWAYS take the contact information from anyone who witnessed the accident so you can contact them later. Contact Georgia Legal Counsel to discuss your personal injury claim with an attorney.

At Georgia Legal Counsel, we work on a contingency-fee basis for your personal injury claim, meaning we only get paid once there’s a settlement. The amount is determined by a percentage of the total settlement.  We recognize that accidents unfortunately can not only cause physical pain but financial burdens as well with unplanned costly medical bills and loss time from work. Everyone should be able to get the representation they need, especially during these hard times. After an accident, hiring a personal injury attorney is the best investment you can make to maximize the value of your claim.

Probate is the formal legal process that occurs after someone has passed away. There are legal documents that must be filed in order to settle any debts and distribute the decedent’s estate to their heirs or beneficiaries.  The Court appoints a personal representative to handle these matters. Georgia Legal Counsel will guide you and your family through this process to ensure the probate is done correctly.
